Tank manufacturer Suretank has announced plans to create 80 new jobs in Co Louth by the end of the year, bringing its total workforce to over 300 employees.

The new positions will be spread across various departments, including sales and marketing, engineering, quality assurance, operations, and finance. The roles will be based at the company’s headquarters in Dunleer and its manufacturing facilities in Co Louth.

Expansion Driven by Diversification Strategy
Suretank specializes in the design, engineering, manufacturing, and shipping of modular and tank solutions for industries such as global infrastructure, pharma, marine, and energy.

In 2016, the company was heavily reliant on the offshore oil and gas industry, with 90% of its customers operating in that sector. However, in recent years, Suretank has diversified its operations, expanding into offshore wind, renewables, data centres, pharma, recycling, and electricity grids.

This strategic shift has led to significant business growth, prompting the company to expand its workforce to meet increasing demand.

Revenue Growth and Future Plans
Suretank is on track to achieve revenues of €75 million by the end of 2025, a sharp rise from €50 million in 2024.

Managing Director Martin Winters credited the company’s diversification strategy for its continued success.

“Thanks to the success of our diversification strategy, we will now continue to grow our team,” said Winters. “Our further investment in Louth will help us to meet customer demand, while also preparing for the rapid growth in operations and revenues that lies ahead.”

Boost for Local Economy
The 80 new jobs will provide a welcome boost to the local economy in Louth, further cementing Suretank’s role as a major employer in the region.

The company’s expansion reflects a broader trend of growth and innovation in Irish manufacturing, particularly in sustainable energy and advanced engineering solutions.

With Suretank’s continued investment in talent and technology, the company is well-positioned to expand its global reach while contributing to the economic development of Co Louth and beyond.
