Common Gas and Electric Stove Issues

To get an electric stove repair and to have it up and running again, remove the power cord, plug it back in, and give it a little wiggle. The prongs would need to be bent outward to create a tighter connection if it is loose. If needed, try again and make the adjustment accordingly.

Usually, the problem arises from food obstructions on the igniter when it comes to a gas stove. The knob looks like ceramic, and it is easy to fix. Just apply toothpaste to the igniter to remove any food debris. Make sure the seal strike plate is sitting properly while you are at it.

Clogged Dishwasher

When the dishwasher doesn’t drain water, it’s usually because the food filter is clogged. A blocked spray arm will prevent the water from reaching the top rack, so the dishes on top will not be cleaned.

Fortunately, the problem can be easily fixed. Using a vacuum cleaner will eliminate the clog after removing the bottom rack, removing the filter screen, and then reinstalling the lower rack. Make sure the float switch is not clogged while you are doing this. You just have to wiggle it a bit, and you’re done.

Blocked Garbage Disposal

Overloaded garbage disposals trip as a self-protection mechanism. Overheating, clogging, and other problems can occur if the garbage disposal runs for an extended period of time. The problem can be resolved by resetting the device.

The garbage disposal only needs to be turned off, then the reset button located inside has to be pressed. Press the button several times until the disposal functions properly. Don’t insert your finger into the system to test if this doesn’t work. Consult a professional for appliance repairs at Maple Leaf if this does not work.

Noisy Washing Machine

Home appliances can also make rattling sounds, such as washing machines. Your washing machine’s legs may not be aligned when it happens to you. You can straighten it out by rotating its legs.

The wobbling of your washing machine might be the result of an unbalanced unit. You may also have an uneven distribution of the clothes in the drum. You can rearrange them by opening the lid and looking inside. You can prevent your washing machine from working so hard if you do this.

After doing the fixes above, the washing machine may still wobble. It may be due to a motor issue or a loose drum. Repairing an appliance should be left to professionals who specialize in this field.
