The role of civil society organizations depends on the national and international conditions, the success of the transition and development of democracy, and the power of the political society.

Commonly support each other and depend on the actors who join in the international fields’ political society, markets, and the state.

According to Alagappa, there are four roles of civil society in support of the political changes in the chosen direction of democracy:

First, lawful civil society organizations’ specific roles and functions stress reform, accountability, representation, and subsidiarity. The function of civil society can be to change as well.

Second, the role of civil society in political changes can be defined through the field of political discourse and the government, the civil society itself, the political society, and the state. Development of the role looks at the public field, which is the domain of self-governance, as well as in terms of institutions, actors, and agendas that enable collective action to affect political society and constitute a political change.

Third, the attention of civil society lies in its structure and rules for the collection of interests and representation; the competition in the power and responsibility of the parliament depends on civil society and politics.

Civil society can assist the development of the political party system, the institution of an electoral system, the institution of an electoral system, public share in elections, supervision of elections and legitimating outcomes, and the constitution and working of the legislature.

Finally, the function of civil society in political change can be seen in how political accountability and participatory, as well as the importance of the concept of civil society both in the field of governance and the power to change in civil society and the state.

Invest in the ability of civil society

In addition to encouraging their programmatic elements, USAID should provide help for the operational capacity of civil society organizations, which to the specific purposes and preferences of each organization.

Engage with a spacious range and different sets of civil society actors.

USAID can use its grant to civil society organizations to act on the injustice that leaves some groups from a country’s economic, political, and social life.
