Hungary is among the dominant tourist destinations in Europe, with the capital, Budapest, considered one of the most beautiful cities worldwide. In addition, this country is home to numerous world heritage sites, UNESCO Biosphere Reserves, the second largest thermal lake in the world, the largest lake in central Europe, and the most extensive natural grassland in Europe.

Great Market Hall, Budapest

There are thousands of markets in Hungary, and the grand market hall in Budapest is the most popular of them all. This multi-story market is situated in an impactful neo-gothic building, close to the banks of the Danube.

Here farmers and traders sell a different variety of produce. You will find fresh fruit, vegetables, and meats on the ground floor, touristic souvenirs, and cafes on the upper floors, fresh fish, and various shops in the basement. The market is open daily.

Lake Balaton

Lake Balaton is Central Europe’s big lake and is one of the country’s top tourist attractions.

During the summer, most Hungarian families try to take a trip out to the lake to spend a few days enjoying the hot summer sun by its shores.

Attractions contain swimming, fishing, and sailing on the lake.

In Winter, visitors to the lake can go skating or ice fishing.

Busojaras, Mohacs

The Busojaras festival takes place six days to Ash Wednesday.

The townsfolk dress up in traditional masks with faces and then parade through the city. People enjoy traditional folk music and local delicacies.

Mosque of pasha Qasim, pecs

This fantastic building was constructed in the 16th century while the country was under the control of the Ottoman Empire.

It is still possible to see inscriptions from the Quran in certain sections of the building. However, visitors are not allowed in the church during religious ceremonies.

Sziget festival,Budapest

Hungarians and international tourists flock to Budapest for the Sziget festival, which takes place at the Obudai-Sziget festival.
