Russia closes its airspace for British aircraft in the wake of the war with Ukraine. The ban was imposed by Moscow in retaliation and includes transit flights through Russian airspace.
The regulator said the ban was in response to British anti-Russian rulings. The United Kingdom on Thursday banned Russian national airline Aeroflot from crossing its airspace as part of a package of sanctions aimed at punishing Russia for its military strike on Ukraine.
The regulator added that Russia had tried to consult with Britain on the move, but that the request had been rejected.
